Tenbury
Wells fire station is located in the Teme Valley, on the county
borderline of Worcestershire and Shropshire with the Herefordshire
border nearby. The ancient market town is known as 'The Town in the
orchard' and is well known for its hop farms and Holly and Mistletoe
sales. The area is mainly rural, but there are an ever-increasing
number of industrial and residential premises that are in our turnout
area. Tenbury fire station can deploy two fire appliances,
available 24 hours every day. These are quickly crewed by 12 of
the 17 retained firefighters who respond to emergencies when alerted by
pagers. Tenbury Wells fire station is the only Hereford & Worcester
Fire Station that is actually located in Shropshire.
Tenbury fire station covers
an area of approximately 32 square miles, and attends an average of two
to three fire or rescue calls per week. A large part of our
"patch" is Shropshire area, however, we provide emergency
cover to these areas as we are the nearest station.
This map shows our
approximate turnout area. Dependant on the accuracy of addresses
passed to fire control, we attend incidents within the red line.
We also attend some incidents outside of the red line with neighbouring
stations and when they are already deployed at other incidents.
