HWFRS Produces Draft 2009/10 IRMP Action Plan 180608 Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service have produced their latest draft IRMP for consultation. The IRMP outlines the services plans for the year 2009 to 2010. Read the full plan on the HWFR website here. The main points are :
Fire Services Could Merge See BBC News Story - details can also be found in the IRMP News Story (Above). Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service could merge with Hereford & Worcester Fire & Rescue Service under a joint review by both services RTC Exercise, Nr Nash, 100508 Fire Crews from Tenbury Wells, Cleobury Mortimer, Droitwich Spa and Wellington, along with the Urban Search and Rescue Team attended an exercise, at Nash, Nr Tenbury, on Saturday (10th May 2008). Crews were to deal with a multi-vehicle RTC involving two cars under the bed of a lorry. Over the last few days, we have been working on the site, as you can see below. We have added some watermarked images to the page banner, altered the layout of some of the pages, modified all of the tables in the site so that they are now all in the same styles, as well as adding a new improved desktop alerter for download. There are also a number of new images dotted around the site.

The flood warning and weather warning page has also been given a new permanent home in the "Safety" section of the site, and will become the homepage when major flooding risks occur.
New Uniform for Firefighters 250408
The new uniform is gradually being rolled out across the country to give the fire and rescue service a nationally identifiable uniform. The clothing colours are red, charcoal grey and light grey. We believe the logo on the t-shirt has been removed. .

BBC Drive to Stay Alive 160408 BBC Hereford and Worcester and BBC Midlands Today are currently running a "Drive to Stay Alive" campaign.
See the links below; New Web Form Service 050408 As a result of spam email, we have now removed our own hosted web form from the "contact us" page of the site. We are now using Bravenet Web Tools to provide our "Web Form" facility on the site. The new form is similar to the old one, but requires a four digit code to be entered into a box to confirm that you are posting a genuine message. Hopefully this will solve our spam problems. We are pleased to announce that as we have paid for the service, all advertising and popup windows have been removed. The following was added : 07/04/08 We have now extended the new webform to the links submission page. To submit your website to our links page, you will now need to enter a four digit code. New Name for FSNBF The Fire Services National Benevolent Fund is to be re-launched with a new name and new branding. "The Fire Fighters Charity" will continue to support it's existing beneficiaries, and hopes that the new branding will draw in an extra £4M per year within three to four years to help an extra 5000 people annually. The new logo is based on the famous "Saved" image, of a firefighter rescuing a small child from a fire, and brings the charity's image right up to date. The new website for the Firefighters Charity is www.firefighterscharity.org.uk The new name comes into force on the 15th March 2008. Firefighter's thanks for generosity 080308 Tenbury firefighters would like to thank everyone who attended the recent (8th March) car wash, held as part of National Car Wash Day, on the Palmers Meadow car park in Tenbury Wells. We'd also like to thank Melvyn at Hatton Stores, (Teme Arcade, Teme Street, Tenbury Wells) for supplying wash and wax and sponges, and local retailers/ Sunshine Radio for displaying posters/advertising. Firefighters washed cars from 9am up until around lunchtime, without a break, raising a total of £274.76 for the Fire Services National Benevolent Fund. Links : New Canine Recruit 120208 Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service is one of seventeen FRS's across England to receive an Urban Search And Rescue (USAR) dog, to be used for sniffing out casualties trapped under collapsed structures. Each USAR dog receives between eighteen months to two years training, before being kitted out with it's protective equipment. We hope you like the new design, the site is designed to link in with the new UK fire service national uniform colours being introduced later on this year. (Charcoal, Titanium and Red). Every effort has been made to check all of the links are working properly, and to iron out any little glitches, but should you find one, please let us know.
