FIREFIGHTERS AT Tenbury Wells will be given training to use the new Gartan availability software this Wednesday (25th Aug).  The software will replace paper based systems which show crewing levels 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Firefighters will be able to record their availability by text message as well as other methods, rather than visiting the fire station to "sign out" and telephoning the officer in charge.

The system lists all of the available firefighters, along with their rank and qualifications, ensuring that crews  respond to emergencies with the correct level of skills and training.

The system automatically notifies fire control and officers in charge of any crewing difficulties ensuring that there is no delay in mobilising resources.
