Our desktop pager is a feature of the site, which notifies our visitors of incidents on their PC desktop. The pager can be added to your gadgets bar in Windows 7 / Vista, or if running Windows XP in a window on the desktop. There is no need to download any software, simply follow the instructions below to begin receiving messages immediately. How does it work?? We update the website after each incident, and this is the moment that we will send out a "page". The pager on your desktop automatically updates every 1 hour, this is when you will receive the "page". The pager is free to set up and use. How do I get the alerter?? Simply follow the download instructions below. Select your operating system to be taken directly to the instructions.
WINDOWS 7 / VISTA - DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS The pager can be added to your "Gadgets" bar, utilising a third party gadget. Step 1. Right-click the gadget bar Step 2. Search for and Download the "Eye on the web" gadget Step 3. Right Click the gadget, and select "Options" Step 4. Select "Custom" from the list of websites Step 5. Type in "www.tenburyfire.co.uk/pager" Step 6. Drag and drop the pink square over the pager area in the sample box Step 7. Press OK. Please note that we do not accept any responsibility for any damage or loss caused by adding the pager to your gadget bar. These instructions utilise a a third party gadget.
WINDOWS XP - DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS Step 1. Right click the desktop. Step 2. Select "Properties" from the drop-down menu. Step 3. The "Display Properties" dialogue box appears, select the "Desktop" tab. Step 4. Left Click "Customise Desktop". Step 5. The "Desktop Items" Dialogue box appears. Select the "Web" tab. Step 6. Left Click "New". Step 7. Type in the box www.tenburyfire.co.uk/pager Step 8. Click "OK". Step 9. The "Add item to active desktop" dialogue box appears - left click the "OK" button. Step 10. Finally close all of the open dialogue boxes by clicking "OK" in each one. The pager will now be on your desktop. You can now position the pager by clicking and dragging the pager window. Should the pager window covers the whole screen, simply run the mouse over the top of the screen to display a menu bar, which will give the option to resize the pager window to a more suitable size.
